He was born in 1946, in Kolozsvár. He earned his degree in painting at the College of Fine Arts in Kolozsvár.

Between 1971 and 1974, he was teaching applied design at the Secondary School of Chemical Industry in Marosvásárhely, and from 1974 to1987 he was employed as an art teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolozsvár.

In 1988 he left his home country with his family and they settled down in Hungary. He worked in an elementary school in Budapest for one year. In 1990 he moved to a studio apartment in Veszprém together with his wife and their three children.

Until 1991, he had worked as an art historian at the Veszprém County Museum, when he decided to focus exclusively on painting. During the following nine years he was working in his studio continually exhibiting all over Europe.

Since 2000 he has been working as a teacher of art at the Herend Porcelain Manufacture and, furthermore, since 2004 he acts as the principal at the School of Porcelain-Painting of Herend Porcelain Manufacture Share Company.

He is an associate member of the Hungarian Fine Art Foundation, the Society of Hungarian Fine Artists and the Hungarian Painters’ Association. He was also an associate member and the guild master of the Veszprém Artists’ Guild for years, later in 2004 together with five other artists he founded the F-Group, which represents figurative art.
