He was born in Budapest in 1930. Following his final examination in secondary school he attended an open school of fine arts, where his tutor was József Csáki Maronyák. 

In 1949 he was admitted to the Hungarian National Academy of Fine Arts where he studied graphic art. Lated he transferred to the faculty of theatre arts launched at the academy. His masters were Gusztáv Oláh, a world famous set designer and opera director, and Pál Miháltz, a painter artist. He earned his artist diploma in 1954.

He started his a theatre career as a holder of a scholarship at Vígszínház, which he later continued at Gárdonyi Géza Theatre in Eger (1955-1957), at Csíki Gergely Theatre in Kaposvár (1958-1961), at the National Theatre of Miskolc (1961-1964) and at József Attila Theatre in Budapest (1964-1971). He also worked for the Hungarian Broadcasting Corporation between 1971 and 1990. In the meantinme he was creating paintings.

His individual and group exhibitions:
Art Gallery (1954); Kaposvár (1957-1959); Naples (1962); Paris (Biennial Exhibition, 1964); Tübingen, Munich, Varsaw, Prague, Vilnius, Novi Sad, Ystad, Berlin, Budapest, Miskolc, Celldömölk, Tihany, Kőszeg.
